In today's rapidly advancing digital landscape, schools and colleges are increasingly reliant on technology to facilitate teaching, learning, and administration. Recognising this, the Department for Education (DfE) has established comprehensive technology standards aimed at ensuring educational institutions leverage digital tools and infrastructure in a way that is secure, effective, and conducive to learning.

These standards cover a broad spectrum of technological considerations, from cybersecurity and data protection to the reliability of wireless networks and the sustainability of hardware and software. Adherence to these standards is not just about compliance; it's about creating a digital environment that enhances educational outcomes, safeguards student and staff data, and prepares learners for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.

Whether you're a headteacher, a business manager, or hold another leadership role within your school, understanding your institution's alignment with these standards is crucial. However, navigating the specifics of IT and technology may not be within everyone's expertise. That's why we've designed this survey to be accessible, allowing non-technical users to assess their school's current standing with the DfE technology standards effectively.

We understand the diversity of expertise in IT among educational professionals, and as such, have ensured that this assessment is accessible without compromising on the granularity of its outcomes. By participating, you will gain insights into various facets of your school’s technological infrastructure and practices—from server resilience and data protection to the integration of digital skills in the curriculum.

Your responses will shape a bespoke report, offering a snapshot score out of 100 that reflects your school's alignment with DfE standards and readiness for a digital future. We encourage you to approach this assessment with an open mind, considering not only your current capabilities but also your aspirations for digital transformation in your educational setting.

Upon completion, you will have a clearer understanding of your school’s position and how The DMS Digital Group can support you in navigating the path towards a comprehensive, secure, and future-ready digital environment.

Don’t take our word for it, see what our Education Partners have to say

Following our phone conversation I just wanted to let you know how good your staff have been with the installation of the  ViewSonics and the photocopiers this summer.

They were a great team to have on site, very friendly, professional and hardworking, they knew what they were here to do and  managed themselves and cleared away all packaging without any drama which was much appreciated!

The site hasn’t been an easy place to work this summer but they worked around all the obstacles with ease and delivered an  amazing outcome so please thank them from all of us. We look  forward to working with you again.

Our recent transition to cloud-based printing has been implemented and managed by DMS.

They know us, understand our cloud strategy and the need for us to reduce stress for our staff and improve efficiencies within the  tech we use.

They are our technology partner and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend working with DMS to any other school or college.
